Journey by Bus

A journey by bus in Bangladesh is often a mix of excitement and adventure. Last month, I traveled from Dhaka to Sylhet by bus. I chose a comfortable AC coach from a reputed company. The bus started its journey early in the morning from Gabtoli Bus Terminal. As we left the busy city behind, the roads became more scenic and peaceful. The highway was lined with green trees and open fields. I enjoyed watching the changing landscapes—rivers, hills, and villages passed by the window like scenes from a movie. We stopped at a roadside restaurant for tea and snacks, which added to the local flavor of the trip. I also had interesting conversations with fellow passengers. Though there was some traffic near a few towns, the overall journey was smooth. The roads have improved a lot in recent years, making long-distance bus travel more convenient and enjoyable. After around six hours, we reached Sylhet safely. This journey gave me a better look at the natural beauty and diversity of Bangladesh. A bus journey might not be as fast as a train or plane, but it offers a close view of the country’s everyday life and culture.
